For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, the countryside around the Centre provides a wealth of options for rambling, climbing, bird watching, adventure training, pony trekking and a vast range of other sports.
The Activity Centre has its own permanent orienteering course, maintained by members of East Pennine Orienteering Club, which allows participants to choose from courses of vaying difficulty.
